2008 Big & Beautiful Pageant Rules

Each contestant must be *Aged:
18 and up as of December 1, 2007.

Ms. Big & Beautiful 2008 Winner: The title of Ms. Big & Beautiful 2008 may only be awarded to the contestant who has the highest overall score in all divisions and in all categories, excluding optional competition. This title may be given to any competitor at any age.

Competition Requirements:

• Each contestant must wear a dress size of 16 or greater.
• Each contestant must have been born female.
• Each contestant must be a citizen of the United States of America.
• Contestants may be single, married, separated or divorced.
• Big & Beautiful Pageant organizers reserves the right to refuse entry to any applicant.

Competition Categories

Private Interview:
All contestants must possess excellent conversational skill. She must be able to express herself with clarity and diplomacy and exude a friendly and inviting personality.

• Attire: Wear professional attire for the interview competition.
• Judging Criteria: Conversational skill, personality, character, knowledge of platform, grooming, and fashion sense.
• Scoring: Interview counts 50% of the total score. The judges' decision is final.

Interview Details:
Each contestant participates in an individual 5-7 minute interview with our panel of judges prior to the start of the pageant. There are typically 5-7 judges on a panel. Each interview will begin with a 30 second self-introduction. The body of the interview will be a combination of questions from information given on your fact sheet as well as current events… (This can be anything from topics on the war to Reality TV questions, or questions based upon your platform.) The interview concludes with a 30 second opportunity to make a final statement to the judges of "Why you'd like to be Ms. Big & Beautiful 2008." As well as any information you'd like the judges to know that wasn't covered in the interview itself.

Each required class participation, each private interview, makeup and hair applications and portions of back stage behind the pageant will be recorded for possible broadcast on a world wide television network. Each contestant hereby accepts and releases their image or likeness to be used in promotional opportunities and the actual broadcast of the 2008 Big & Beautiful Pageant.

Evening Gown:
All contestants must exude grace, poise, elegance and sophistication. Judges will be evaluating the gown and how well it suits the contestant (e.g., fit, color, style) as well as the contestant's on-stage presentation.

• Judging Criteria: Modeling ability, stage presence, poise and grace.
• Scoring: Evening Gown counts for 20% of the total score.

Evening Gown Competition Details:
Evening gown must be floor lenght. Sophistication counts! All contestants are permitted to wear an evening gown of their choice.
